Second Order of Books Has Been Placed - Updates on Panels
The research continues! We have now procured the following for use with this year's panels:
Camels" by William J Ripple
The Cultural Atlas of Mesopotamia and the Ancient Near East" by Michael Roaf
The Hittites: And Their Contemporaries in Asia Minor" by J. G. McQueen
Jealous Gods and Chosen People: The Mythology of the Middle East by David Leeming
We've been lucky enough to receive as a panelist Ginkaruja, who has actually worked with the lovely and mystical camel. He knows so much about them and we have such an abundance of information that we will be focusing solely on the camel this year. Why don't you come find out what's bull and what isn't? You might be surprised!
We are also pleased to announce what we have chosen our mythological animal focus: the sphinx. Is your curiosity enough to riddle out the meaning and existence of this magnificent creature? We challenge you to solve it for yourself.
Finally, we need a bit of help: we're looking for someone to man our video camera, preferably someone with experience. The goal is to produce footage which can be edited and placed on a web site so that folks who couldn't attend or who want the panels for their own references can have access to them. We also need someone to help us get our things to and from our room. There's a box of books with a handle for pulling and a laptop case (can be swung over the shoulder or pulled). P'shaw is too small to carry everything and I have to be able to push my chair. Give us a hand and you'll forever have our gratitude.
