I have the distinct honor of being kinda in charge of the Masq this year. (Yeah me?). As we don't have a lot of time at the rehearsal, try to have your idea's all hammered out and workable. I decided that this being the Tenth year of MFM, anyone that can work either Tin or Aluminum (which is the traditional gift for a 10th anniversary) into their act and make it work will get a special award. The act's don't have to have that in there, but it would just be something fun to try to work on. Our excellent sound guy Protius is on deck to keep the sound up and running. We would ask that it be standard cd format type of music or sound or whatever. Anything else, please ask away off list (don't want to flood the list with silly little things, unless it's the performance list where things should be discussed..) Extra! Read all about it! MFM 10 August Newsletter! Message-ID: Skunky ScuttleButt MFM 10 ...Hell must have frozen over!! Well.....only 11 days left!!! (first the serious stuff) Your MFM staff is very excited about the upcoming meet and seeing everyone again at the "Pizza Party That REALLY Got Out Of Hand". Each year we grow a bit and I like to take a moment to remind everyone of a few things..... Your MFM staff and the hotel staff have the safety and security of all the attendees in mind at all times....in saying this we want to remind everyone about while having fun, please stay in control. Anyone that is found to be a danger to themselves or others because of over indulgence will be dealt with in an appropriate manner. We want everyone to have a good time and not worry about the carelessness of others. Just remember....all local state and federal laws are intact and will be enforced....things like under age drinking and such will not be tolerated. Also at MFM...NO means NO!! If you have someone that after telling them "No" still will not leave you alone, please contact a member of the MFM executive staff or the MFM security staff. We will not tolerate any type of harassment at MFM. We want this to be the type of environment that everyone feels they can relax and have fun at. The hotel has assured us that anyone causing problems....from our group or any other visitor to the hotel will be asked to leave the hotel and will not be allowed back on property. The hotel has more than their share of experience with "problem children" through other events like the Elvi convention that was just there, so they know how to handle things. Our security staff works hand in hand with the hotel security staff and local police to make sure we have a safe and fun time at MFM! ***now the fun stuff**** The MFM schedule is now online! Check it out and see all the fun things planned! As always, we have a menagerie of events ranging from puppet shows to writing panels. Check your schedule and see which events you would like to see. http://www.mephitfurmeet.org Not registered yet? No problem! You can still register at the door or upgrade your attendance to Sponsor or Super Sponsor. (Sorry, Decade levels had to be done by 8/1) We have had one Jacuzzi suite become available. This has a 2 night minimum stay and the room is located in the exec tower. The rate is $209 a night plus tax. It has a large living room and dining area with kitchenette and a separate bedroom with king size 4 poster bed and large Jacuzzi tub in the bedroom. If you are interested in this you need to contact me directly at hotel@mephitfurmeet.org Also we still do have a few rooms available for the $89 a night MFM rate. They are bookable here http://secure.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/sl/1/en/cwshome/DPRD-6LULCQ/MEMDR We are looking at the largest attendance record ever! Come on to Memphis TN and help us grow even more. With ELEVEN days left, you better hurry. Rooms are going fast, but there is still plenty of fun to go around. We still have a few spots left for the Furry Frolic dinner on Friday night. Price for the dinner is $10.95 per person plus tax and tip. This is an ALL YOU CAN EAT buffet!!! Don't forget that each attendee of the dinner gets one of the special limited edition buttons with artwork by AnimeCat and Captain Chipmunk. Space is limited!! We take over the hotel restaurant every year for this and FILL IT! Email me at mfmdirector@gmail.com to R.S.V.P.! Don't forget that once again the gang from Tiger Haven http://www.tigerhaven.org will be there. They have let me know that the whole Tiger Haven staff has been working on lots of goodies that will only be able to be purchased at MFM! Also don't forget we are still looking for items for the auction as well. This is our chance to do something that directly helps animals that need help the most!!! We are going to have two AWESOME shows from Critical Fail and Sub-level 03! Also Sub-level 03 and Oklacon will be having a room party to celebrate their new works, so make sure and stop by! Our Dealers' Den is PACKED. Come check out all the wares out furry merchants have to sell. Visit our website and browse our list of dealers. Anyone you know? Need a con badge? Visit one of the many artists and get yourself a custom-made badge! Oh...don't forget, if you see a staff member, give 'em a big hug and let 'em know they're appreciated. They all work so very hard to make MFM fun! See everyone in less than 2 weeks!
