Thursday: We will be starting around noon when I arrive. I will need help unloading the van and setting up the room. Around 3PM, I will need three people to help stuff registration bags with tshirts for the people that have preregistered. This should take about 2 hours. There will be a break for a meal. Around 6:30, I'm going to need 6 people to help with the actual registration. Three people will be in front of a computer putting registration into the system, so good typing skills are a must for those positions. The other three will be runners either packing new bags as people register or handing out bags to preregistered members. This will last until 9PM. Friday: I need help starting at 10AM and lasting until 4PM and then again from 6PM til 9PM. I will need both data entry people and runners. No one has to work the whole day, but I would like people to commit to work at least 3 hour stints. I would like to have 3 people for the 10AM to 1PM and 1PM to 4PM shifts and 2 people for the 6PM to 9PM shifts. Those working the 6PM to 9PM shifts will have food provided to them. Saturday: I could use 1 person to work with me during the 10AM - 2PM shift. This can be broken into two 2 hour shifts. Sunday: Noone is specifically needed Monday morning: Will need help starting around 10AM to clean up and pack the van again. Just as a reminder, Thursday and Monday hours count double towards your gopher hours. So...help me Thursday afternoon and evening and a bit on Friday, and you have next year's con all wrapped up. Message-ID: <44EA6607.4010405@quasiskunk.org> Hello, and on behalf of the Staff of MFM10, I thank you for your generosity and help towards making this MFM the best ever Furmeet! This year is very special to the Staff and Members, as it is our 10th year. Without all of your help, we never would have made it this far, and beyond! ^.^ Berin and myself are more than grateful for your assistance this year. Please read thru this Loooong (sorry) email, and if you have any questions, please let us know ^.^ Since the schedule has been released this weekend, I would ask that you look it over to see if there are any specific places, events, or needs that you would wish to donate your time. Currently our biggest needs are in Registration, especially Thursday and Friday, and with all of the fursuiting events. However, we do need help in other areas as well, such as setting up and tear down Thursday and Monday, Sub Level03 setup and teardown, our famous Horsebrutality Suite needs help transferring the foodstuffs from the delivery truck to the Suite, and other areas could use a few helping paws. If you would like to help in any specific area, please email us directly ( volunteers@mephitfurmeet.org ), and Berin or I will see that you get your choice. For those helping with setting up or tearing down the Furmeet on Thurs. or Mon., you will receive double time for your help this year! So, for every hour you work those days, you'll get 2 towards the rollover. And that happens at 15 hours. So think about it...a free basic membership for next year for helping out this year! If you don't qualify for the rollover, you will still receive a spiffy limited edition art print from our GoH, J3T for working just 6 hours! And if you don't make that level, we'll still reward you with something cute (no, you can't have Berin *grins* ) After you go thru the Registration line at MFM, you will see the Gopher Check-in next to the registration computers. There, we'll need you to sign in, and get your assignments (if you email them ahead of time), or look thru the list of events that need help. You will get a time sheet as well as a volunteer ribbon to place on your badge. The time sheet will have a place to put the event, date, time in and out, as well as a place for the Staffer for that event to initial the times. Hours worked are not valid without the Staff signature. And please do not lose this sheet; there is no other record of your times other than that. At the end of the Con (or whenever you would like to check out), we will have a Gopher check-out table for you to turn in your times, and receive all of your acquired goodies, as well as our gratitude, a hug, skritch and a hearty pawshake. ^.^ Once again, our gracious thanks for wishing to donate some of your time to help make the "Pizza Party Gone Out of Control" become the best Furmeet our Fandom has ever had!
