With less than a week to go, time to post some of the frequently asked questions 
about registrations...

Where is registration going to be?

Registration is going to be in Conference Room 7 on the bottom floor and across 
from the ballrooms.

When will registration be open?

Registration will be open on the following schedule:

7PM - 9PM Thursday
10AM - 4PM and 6PM - 9PM Friday
10AM - 2PM Saturday
10AM - 12PM Sunday

I won't be in until after registration is closed, what do I do?

For Thursday night, there won't be any events that require your badge, so come 
back on Friday when we are open. For any other time, feel free to find a member 
of staff (yellow badges) or security (green vests). They will be happy to page 
someone from registration to help you out.

Are membership refundable?

At this point, no membership is refundable.

Can memberships be rolled over til next year?

You may request that your membership be rolled over for one year. This must be 
requested before 11:59PM CDT Tuesday, August 26. Previously rolled over 
memberships and volunteer memberships may not be rolled over. If you wish to 
request a membership rollover, please email us at 
registration2008 at mephitfurmeet.org.

What happens if I can not attend and don't request a refund or rollover?

Any membership packets not claimed at the door during the convention will be 
mailed, free of charge, to the mailing address provided to us when you 
registered. This will happen about a month after the convention.

I can't make it this year, but I have a friend who can. Can he have my membership?

Memberships are transferable before the convention. This must be requested 
before 11:59PM CDT Tuesday, August 26. You are responsible for any money 
transfer involved and once you request a transfer, it will not be undone. This 
means, make sure you trust your friend to pay your or have the money in hand 
before requesting a transfer. Also, we will not act as a matchmaker, you must 
have the person's information before you request the transfer. If you wish to 
request a membership transfer, please email registration2008 at mephitfurmeet.org 
with the information of the person to transfer it to. Please note that they are 
not guaranteed to have a tshirt in their size if their size differers from yours 
if the request is made after August 1. Membership transfers will not take place 
at the convention.

I have multiple names. Can I have multiple conbadges with my different names?

No. Only one official badge will be issued per membership. The badge if your 
admission ticket to the convention. If you have a fursuit, we do have fursuit 
badges will will be made Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.

When do I need to wear my badge?

Your badge must be worn at anytime you are in conspace. This proves to us you 
have paid and should be there. Any member of staff or security may ask you to 
show your badge. In fursuit, your badge doesn't have to be visible, but it 
should be worn on your body somewhere so it can be shown.

Can I share a badge with a friend?

No. If we find that you are sharing you badge, you risk ejection from the 
convention along with the person it was shared with and banning from future 
conventions.

I don't have a lot of money, what can I do?

We do offer day badges for half price. This allows you to attend the convention 
for one day. It doesn't get you a tshirt however.

That's still too expensive...can't I just hang out with friends at the hotel?

We don't intend to police the hotel looking for badges, however, do remember 
that if it wasn't for the memberships paid by people, we wouldn't be at the 
hotel. Please consider buying a badge to help us out. Also, remember without a 
badge, you will not be able to enter any con space, including any of the 
ballrooms, conference rooms or the consuite.

What forms of payment do you accept?

For onsite registration, currently cash, personal check, money order or 
travelers check. There is an ATM inside the hotel and also a few close to the hotel.

I'm under 18, can I attend?

All minors will be issued a red badge to show that they are minors. If you are 
16 or 17, you may attend if you have your parent's permission. They must fill 
out and have notarized this form for you to attend. If you do not provide this 
form, membership will be denied. If you are below the age of 16, your parents or 
guardian must also attend for you to attend. If you have any questions about

Why must I have a picture ID with my birthdate to register?

Having a picture ID makes our lives much simpler in the long run. If you have 
preregistered, you MUST have a picture ID to claim that registration. This is to 
protect you from having your membership stolen. Also, if you appear to be under 
the age of 18, you again MUST have picture ID to prove your age. If you appear 
to be under the age of 18 and you don't have a picture ID to prove you aren't, 
you will be treated as a minor and, unless you have the minor consent form 
filled out, you will be denied membership. The judgment of age fall solely on 
the head of registration and the executive staff of MFM. This is to protect the 
convention and the dealers from any issues that might arise from dealing with 
minors. Memberships that can not be claimed because lack of ID can not be 
refunded or rolled over in any manner.

Minors (under 16) attending with their parents do not need to have ID.

I don't have an ID, what do I need to do?

We understand that there are still some people out there without picture IDs. If 
you do not have a picture ID with birthdate, please bring a notarized letter 
with your physical description and your birthdate.

When is the best time to register at the convention? How long should it take?

The busist times for registration is between 7PM and 8PM on Thursday and 10AM 
and 11AM on Friday morning. Beyond those times, usually we can have people in 
and out of registration within 10 minutes, but most of the time shorter than
